The Technological University of Panama was created by Law 18 of August 13, 1981, sanctioned by the then President of the Republic, Dr. Aristídes Royo. Subsequently, Law 17 of October 9, 1984 was formulated, through which the Institution is organized and structured. Also known as "La Tecnológica", the UTP has a national presence in the seven Regional Centers: The Bocas del Toro Regional Center, the Chiriquí Regional Center, the Veraguas Regional Center, the Azuero Regional Center, the Coclé Regional Center, the Colon Regional, West Panama Regional Center. It also has two University Extensions, one in Howard and the other in Tocumen. The UTP is a national leader in research in the engineering area; It serves as a center of reference and expertise in technology.

🏫 About the University

The Technological University of Panama, Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá in Spanish, is the second largest university in Panama. It comprises six schools and has seven regional campuses nationwide. The main campus is a 60-hectare piece of land in Panama City, the country's capital.

The synergy created with the government, private and social sectors of Panama allows UTP to maintain an updated academic offer and contribute efficiently to the technological and social development of the country. On the other hand, the link developed with prestigious academic and research institutions, organizations and companies from other countries, ensures its successful insertion in the globalized world.
