📖 Introduction
The Technological University of Panama was created by Law 18 of August 13, 1981, sanctioned by the then President of the Republic, Dr. Aristídes Royo. Subsequently, Law 17 of October 9, 1984 was formulated, through which the Institution is organized and structured.
Also known as "La Tecnológica", the UTP has a national presence in the seven Regional Centers: The Bocas del Toro Regional Center, the Chiriquí Regional Center, the Veraguas Regional Center, the Azuero Regional Center, the Coclé Regional Center, the Colon Regional, West Panama Regional Center. It also has two University Extensions, one in Howard and the other in Tocumen. The UTP is a national leader in research in the engineering area; It serves as a center of reference and expertise in technology.
