🏫 About University of Tokyo
Founded in 1877, the University of Tokyo is among the oldest and largest national universities in Japan. Its 3 campuses make it possible for the university to provide a platform for education and research. UTokyo has partnered with other international research institutions in China, USA, South Korea and other Asian countries.
One of the positive aspects of the university is that it has a community that offers support for entrepreneurial students and faculty who are looking to use their research and educational outcomes to start companies. As a result of this, 430 startups related to the university have been established. Campus Tokyo is a vibrant metropolis with a distinct urban character and unique culture that is ideal for growing minds and adventurous spirits.
The university has campuses with modern features. One of them is the Komaba campus which hosts the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, and the Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences. UTokyo’s main Hongo campus is a tourist attraction due to its landmarks, an example being Yasuda Auditorium where graduations and special events of the university are usually held. The location usually holds the May festival annually
