The University of Malaya is committed to providing high quality, industry focused education. It is passionate about helping our students succeed in their careers and being an integral part of the social, cultural, and economic development of Malaysia. It has been named the best university in Malaysia, consistently ranked as the No. 1 university in Malaysia and among the top 3 universities in Southeast Asia, plus it is among the top 400 universities in the world.It is for this reason that the University of Malaya has a large, vibrant alumni network that not only includes two Prime Ministers of Malaysia but also many notable figures who have significantly contributed to the development of the country. Campus UM is home to 13 faculties, three centers, two academies and two institutes. These include Faculty of Science, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Economics and Administration, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Business and Accountancy, Faculty of Engineering , Faculty of Built Environment, Faculty of Education Center for Foundation Studies , Cultural Centre Academy of Islamic Studies ,and the Academy Malay Malay. It offers great opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Scholarships Available Malaysian Public Service Department (JPA) Scholarship Organic Bunny Academic Scholarship Panasonic Scholarship The Asean-Maybank Scholarship Programme Maybank Group Scholarship Programme Life in the Campus UM's distinctive approach encapsulates sustainability, as directed by its 2018 eco-campus initiative. The university focuses on providing an eco-friendly environment, and this has led to 75% of campus area being eco-friendly by 2020. It also contains beautiful infrastructures across the campus The university has 13 residential colleges to accommodate 11,000 students at a time. They also have more than 65% housing facilities for first-year students. Out of the 13 on-campus housing options, international students are welcome to apply to stay in four residential colleges. In addition to the student residences, the university contains exercise equipment, restaurants, garden and lake. Transportation is available from the residences to the faculties and a 24-hour library is available for students to study at any time.
