📖 Introduction
The Federal University of Santa Catarina is a public university in Florianópolis, the capital city of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil. Founded on 18 December 1960 with the goal of promoting teaching, research and outreach, UFSC delivers free and public education and is placed among the best universities in Brazil and in Latin America.
UFSC’s achievements are seen as reference in Brazil and abroad and its internationalization process includes cooperation agreements with educational institutions all over the world. Currently, there are more than 300 partnerships with countries in all parts of the globe. The majority of courses offered at UFSC are in undergraduate degrees, though the university also has established research and doctoral facilities. The undergraduate courses requiring the highest entry grades are medicine, chemical engineering and mechanical engineering.
