Established in 1924 as the Kaohsiung District Pingtung Extension School of Agriculture, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) has undergone several restructurings and name changes over the years. The current name was adopted in 1997. The campus is surrounded by picturesque scenery and as a result, NPUST has gained the reputation of being a “National Park University”. There are six separate colleges at NPUST offering a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs.
NPUST has links with 274 universities and colleges in 46 countries through various academic exchanges, faculty and students exchanges, sharing of resources, and joint research opportunities. The Institute educated innumerable scholars for the crews of the widely recognized Taiwan Agricultural Teams and for domestic companies.
