Chung Hua University is a non-profit private university located in Xiangshan District, Hsinchu City, Taiwan. It was formerly known as Chung Hua Polytechnic Institute founded in 1990 by three local Hsinchu entrepreneurs, Ron-Chang Wang, Zau-Juang Tsai and Lin Junq-tzer. The university aimed to provide technological education and promote higher education, while contributing to the development of local industries. Chung Hua University’s core values are to foster a spirit of diligence, integrity, compassion and innovation. The university implemented the universal education of innovation and creation, as students are required to study courses while completing practical projects. This is in line with the view that students will gain strength in innovative thinking to aid their future careers. Chung Hua University has the first AI+ center, and which bringing the world's latest AI applications to campuses, creating scenarios such as smart access control, smart restaurants, smart retail, and smart buildings, and combining AI with the majors of various colleges and departments to create the application field and customized practical exercises enable students to have a certain level of AI artificial intelligence application capabilities.
Chung Hua University provides a young faculty with excellent teaching and research skills, of which more than 65% are professors and associate professors. The average age of the faculty is 37 and the teacher: student ratio is 1:20. Chung Hua University campus is located near the Green-Grass Lake, one of the Hsinchu's most famous scenic spots in southern suburban area. With a land of more than 20 hectares, the school is surrounded by beautiful hills. In addition, the university also communicates, cooperates, and shares teaching and research resources with the neighboring schools and research institutes such as Chiao Tung University, Ching Hua University, Hsinchu Normal College, and Industrial Technology Research Institute. This offers special support to the academic environment of the school.
Chung Hua University has a career placement service center which is specifically designed to assist students with honing their job skills, identifying and working toward career goals, finding suitable careers, getting referrals to employers, and boosting networking skills. The Center for Career Education helps students and alumni to develop the key competencies necessary to make informed decisions and take the necessary steps to achieve their career goals. CHU’s career placement service center also provides job interview training, one-on-one career counseling and resume development, apprenticeship programs, and employment-related workshops for students. In addition, CHU’s career placement service center establishes connections and facilitates interaction among undergraduate students, graduate students, alumni, employers, and organizations to generate opportunities that help students pursue their personal and professional objectives. All these factors contribute to the likelihood of CHU students finding high paying jobs.
