American University of Antigua (AUA) is a private, international medical school located in Antigua and Barbuda. AUA was founded in 2004 and has been a part of Manipal Education & Medical Group. The university leads the way in addressing the projected physician shortage, especially in the areas of primary care, family medicine, and internal medicine.

AUA’s curriculum is taught in English, and all accepted students must be proficient in English. AUA uses a holistic admissions approach to select students with the potential for medical school success and provides them with the resources they need to obtain highly competitive residencies and move on to successful careers in medicine. Accomodation Details:

When you’re in medical school, you need a place to call home. American University of Antigua College of Medicine (AUA) offers both on-campus housing and selected third-party housing units— apartments with the comforts of home. We have a diverse selection of housing options available for students. Find the one that’s right for you.

Housing options available on a first deposited, first-served basis. Each student assigned to University approved housing will be charged a $1,000 Housing Damage Deposit (HDD), which will be due, with rent, at the beginning of the term. At the end of the term, after students move out and turn in their keys, and after inspections have been completed of all vacated units (Please allow 6-8 weeks post move out) HDDs will be credited back to the student’s housing account. Any resultant credit balance will then be eligible for refund.

In Lord Nelson, single only choice is a two story unit, 10 beds on each floor all facing the water. The apartment is a private bedroom in two bedroom suite with a shared bathroom, kitchen (not communal), and living space. This is a cozy living space but with dramatic views right on the water. A flat screen TV is mounted in the living area. There is a laundry room on the premises. Lord Nelson is walking distance from the campus.

How easy to get?

How to book on campus accommodation:

Living Off Campus:
  • A large number of students in China will choose to stay in private accommodation off campus.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to Global Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
