Do you want to work with young people at an exciting age on the threshold of adulthood? Then subject teacher training is something for you. As a subject teacher, you have an exciting and challenging profession with young people who are developing critical thinking and who think about the big questions in life. You deepen your knowledge in your favorite subjects that you study with the aim of becoming a knowledgeable and inspiring teacher for tomorrow's adults. First subject Swedish Swedish and learning focuses on knowledge of language, literature, other media texts and subject didactics and emphasizes that language development takes place in social contexts. The subject studies in Swedish comprise 90 credits. Second and third subjects In addition to your first subject, you either choose to study a subject of 60 or 90 credits or two subjects of 45 credits each. If you choose to study 60 credits in your second subject, the education comprises 240 credits and is studied over four years. If you choose to study a second and a third subject of 45 credits each, the education comprises 270 credits and is read over 4.5-5 years. Business-based training Already during the first semester, you get a feel for your future professional role at a school. You do your work-based education of 30 credits at a school where you gain insights into the school's operations and what the teaching profession entails. The on-the-job training takes place under the guidance of experienced teachers and supervisors throughout the training. Here you develop your ability to plan, implement and evaluate teaching. The close contact with the school means that you can use your practical experiences in the theoretical studies. The training gives you solid subject knowledge and the ability to support students' knowledge development and to assess and grade their achievements.
