Converse’s MAT in Special Education is designed for dedicated individuals holding a bachelor’s degree in a field other than education who want to enter the teaching profession working with exceptional students. Our Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education program provides preparation leading to certification in the area of Intellectual Disabilities or Learning Disabilities and Elementary Education. Instruction in special education, elementary education, and psychology is designed to give the prospective teacher a strong background for working with students with intellectual disabilities. Directed student teaching is arranged within our area public schools.
