Laval University offers a Master's degree in Psychopedagogy-Orthopedagogy that provides students with a comprehensive knowledge of psychological and educational strategies to effectively work with individuals who have physical and/or psychological difficulties. The program is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to evaluate, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized support programs for people with physical and/or psychological difficulties. The program is a two-year program, requiring 45 credits, consisting of courses in the following areas: psychology, pedagogy, education, evaluation, clinical psychology, and research methodology. The courses are designed to teach students about different types of physical and psychological disabilities, the educational and psychological strategies used to support people with disabilities, and the skills required to develop and implement appropriate individualized support plans. The goals of the program are to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles of psychopedagogy and orthopedagogy and to equip them with the necessary skills to effectively assess, develop, implement and evaluate individualized support plans for people with physical and/or psychological difficulties. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to work with people with disabilities in a variety of settings such as schools, universities, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers.
