Studios are the creative heart of the BA study programme at Design Academy Eindhoven. A studio at DAE is where students learn to translate their ideas and principles that they have developed at the Academy into their own practice as a designer. The toolbox filled in the ongoing Fundamentals programme will be used here. Studio Silva Systems is dedicated to the concept of the forest as a superorganism for design and practice with ecological accountability. We take you on a journey through forests and learn about the benefits they provide by visiting them. In an experimental practice of learning, we question how to interact with fragile and complex organisms and explore ways of regeneration. Through individual and collective research, observations, and experimental approaches to making, we investigate complex systems encompassing ecology, society, culture, and economics.
