The Accounting program offers students the opportunity to pursue degrees in Accounting. The use of technology as a teaching and learning tool is highly emphasized and is incorporated in most courses. Critical thinking, effective written communication, and ethical values are also emphasized. Students are encouraged to participate in student organizations to help build teamwork and leadership skills. They are required to complete an internship to gain work experience and an understanding of how the business world operates. As one of the fastest growing professions, our accounting program prepares students for careers in public, corporate, government and not-for-profit accounting. We use problem–based learning approaches so students learn both content as well as thinking strategies. Our accounting degree program also serves as excellent preparation for continued study for graduate degrees, such as Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Accountancy (MA), and Juris Doctor (JD).
