The Bachelor of Science with a major in art education prepares you to teach art in the Georgia School System. You will be prepared for the initial teaching certificate to teach pre-school through twelfth grade. This program is a collaboration between the Department of Visual Arts and the College of Education. Sixty credits are taken in Areas A-F core curriculum coursework, 33 credit hours are required in 2000 and 4000 level studio art and art history, and 36 credits are taken in professional education coursework (a minimum of 39 credits in 3000- and 4000-level studio art, art history, and art education courses are required). You will also complete a 12-credit-hour, one-semester student teaching capstone experience during your last semester of their senior year. See all program requirements in the catalog listing.
