An audiology assistant is a person who, after appropriate training and demonstration of competency, performs delegated tasks that are prescribed, directed and supervised by a certified or licensed audiologist. Audiology Assistants improve access to patient care by increasing the availability of audiology services. They also reduce costs by performing tasks that do not require the professional skills of a certified or licensed audiologist. The Audiology Assistant Certificate program offers coursework and supervised clinical experiences to prepare students for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association certification exam and credentialing.
