🏫About Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP)
The UNLP workforce is made up of some 12,000 graduate and undergraduate teachers, and 3,000 non-teachers. The Presidency Building, headquarters of this house of higher studies, is located in the heart of the city of La Plata, on Avenida. The University also has 154 Research and Development Institutes, Centers and Laboratories where some 6,000 Researchers carry out their activity. It also has a Museum of Natural Sciences, an Astronomical Observatory, a Planetarium, a Public Library (and a network of 21 libraries), a Publishing House, an AM-FM Radio, an Institute of Education Physical with a Sports Field and four branches of the University Dining Room, which provides about 7,000 lunches daily. In addition, the UNLP has a university hostel located at 61 and 127, Berisso, where 100 students from the interior of the country are currently housed, which has a medical, nutritional and psychological office.
Being the University one of the most prestigious national research and teaching centers it is a place of reference of the cultural university heritage in our country.
The University, with its wide scope of knowledge, has contributed to the democratization and spreading of knowledge of many generations from Argentine and Latino American citizens. Government representatives of many countries have passed through its classrooms converting the acquired knowledge into a tool for unity and construction of shared destinies. To work on strengthening of strategies for integration and on the articulation of institutions and resources implies to guarantee an international shared and permanent cooperation.
