📖Program Curriculum
The MA in Advanced Social Care Law aims to develop a practical and theoretical understanding of the law that underpins adult and children's social care with a view to enhancing practice. You will have the opportunity to explore various topics through the module options and demonstrate your knowledge at master's level. This will enable you to build on your high level skill set and expertise through tailoring your academic study aligned with your interests and professional developmental goals.
The programme can be studied full time over one year part time over two years or up to five years if you choose to study on a modular basis.
To qualify for the MA you must study 180 credits comprised of one core module three further optional modules and a dissertation based on a topic of your choice in the field of social care law.
Core module
Principles of Social Care Law (30 credits)
This module will cover the core principles in social care law in the context of adults and children. Typical course content may cover aspects such as the law in relation to adults and children with needs for care and support the rights of carers safeguarding challenging care decisions through judicial review and the role of regulators.
