Master’s in Physical Chemistry at Radboud University
In this Master’s specialisation, you will get an in-depth understanding of the fundamental behaviour of molecules and materials aiming to discover novel functionalities. Thanks to the many research facilities located on the Radboud campus, you’ll be able to perform advanced spectroscopic experiments on site. Besides experimental work it is possible to focus on the theoretical aspects of the research. You can follow your personal interests; work on bio(mimetic) molecules whereas others might prefer energy materials. It’s also possible to specialise in the development of new spectroscopic methods. Study programme The specialisation Physical Chemistry offers education in connection with state-of-the-art research aiming to fundamentally understand, design and control the functioning of molecules and materials. Examples of topics are self-organisation of complex molecular systems, structure-function relationships of nanostructured materials or fundamentally understand the structure of molecules and the way they interact. This involves theoretical skills and the use and understanding of advanced spectroscopic tools to gain insight in structure and dynamics of molecules and materials in relation to the intended functionality. It has a course load of 120 EC (two years).
Curriculum of Physical Chemistry The programme comprises of compulsory courses, supplemented by a set of specialisation electives. In addition, you’re allowed to follow a few courses at any faculty or university you want.
