📚About the Program
Master’s in Economics of Globalisation and European Integration at Ghent University
The master EGEI programme meets an increasing demand for graduates who have the skills to competently analyse issues of globalisation and economic integration, and make relevant policy or strategic recommendations in the public and private sector. Global events such as the Great Recession crisis, trade wars, the Brexit, … learned us to rethink current processes of integration and to support and improve the mechanisms of globalisation. This programme will train you not only in economics but will also give you a solid knowledge of international law that regulates global interactions and the theory and practice of international business and other key economic agents acting in the global economy. EGEI encourages you to think for yourselves, to develop an entrepreneurial spirit and to be critical. In addition, the programme draws attention to the broader social consequences of economic policies, such as the effects on migration, inequality and the environment. You will get a full-immersive study experience in a truly global environment as you’ll have to interact with people with different cultures and backgrounds, and live in different countries during the 2-years programme. EGEI is jointly offered by a consortium of 8 institutions: Bari (Italy), Ghent and Brussels (Belgium), Santander (Spain), Lille (France), Tartu (Estonia), Xiamen (China), Valparaiso (Chile). You will follow classes in at least 3 different countries during the four semesters.
