Do you want to work independently and together with school staff and management to offer support and help for students in various vulnerable situations? Mathematics development is one of three specializations in the special education program.
The aim is to train special teachers who can strengthen the teaching of children, young people and adults in their mathematics development. Development of learning environments and carrying out pedagogical investigations and action programs are important parts of the education.
As a special education teacher, you work with the mission that all students have the right to support to reach the knowledge goals. An important role is to contribute to good investigation and to design and implement extra adaptations, special support efforts and action programs so that the school maintains high quality. Being both a developer of quality and a qualified interlocutor and advisor for both parents and colleagues in your specialization are other important parts of your work. You collaborate with other special teachers, special pedagogues, student health and other important actors in the preschool/school with the aim of jointly developing good learning environments.
Your part-time studies consist partly of lectures, seminars and basic group work scheduled on campus, approx. 12–14 days in each course, partly of self-study and work in basic groups. Most of the half-term studies in each course are thus expected to be planned and carried out by you and your core group, and they refer to, among other things, field studies, base group work, auscultation, literature reading and own work with an examination task.
The three-year education is given at half-time and gives a special teacher's degree.
