📚About the Program

Product development engineers create functional products and services that serve people's varied and changing needs. This is done by identifying various technical, human and business needs and opportunities in the product development chain (need-idea-design-market). Based on these, product development engineers create new innovative and sustainable solutions that make a real difference. Product development and design is basically a university engineering education in mechanical engineering with clear elements of product design. Based on your logical, creative and aesthetic ability, you practice systematically and methodically running innovation projects to develop value-creating products and services. Within the education, special focus is placed on how you build strong teams and effectively collaborate in projects and organizations. Teaching is supported by modern, digital aids; among other things to visualize and construct. If you basically have an interest in mathematics and physics combined with a playful and aesthetic sense, you will enjoy your education and later as a professional product development engineer. In several of the more basic courses, you will study together with students studying the Mechanical and Materials Engineering course. The education gives you a stable and sought-after knowledge base and practical skills that make you ready to work in different environments and contexts. There is a well-developed collaboration with business in the region and this means that the education is adapted to the needs of the labor market. The demand for talented product development engineers is constantly growing. The labor market prospects are therefore very good for a long time to come. You have the opportunity to study abroad during the fifth semester. If you enjoy studying, you will be well prepared to study further after completing your education. You can do this on a master's program at Malmö University or at another university in Sweden or internationally. Show less
