This module aims to provide you with a substantive knowledge and understanding of the basic legal rules and principles underpinning Criminal Law. The content includes the main elements of specific offences partial defences and general defences.
English Legal System

This module aims to introduce you to the fundamental concepts of the legal system of England & Wales. You will gain substantive knowledge and understanding of the basic legal rules and principles underpinning the English Legal System the sources of the English Legal System statutes precedent and the English court systems.
European Union Law

You’ll cover topics including history of EU sources of law institutions law-making the relationship between EU and national law EU remedies in national courts and some procedural EU law in national and European courts. You will look at the provisions of internal market law and economic integration.
Public Law

You will gain a knowledge and understanding of the basis legal rules and principles underpinning Public Law in United Kingdom. Topics including the relationship between the state and the individual the key sources of the constitution the doctrine of the separation of powers between the executive legislature and the monarchy will be explored.
Legal Practice and Skills

This module will provide you with opportunities to develop and practice key skills. You’ll gain an understanding of basic Legal Practice and Skills such as the ability to draft legal documents and legal study skills you will need to study law as an academic discipline.

This module introduces concepts principles and policy relevant to modern tort law including tort as a means of compensating victims and as a loss distribution mechanism. You’ll study the tort of negligence vicarious liability and an outline of the principles governing compensation for personal injury and death.
Property Law

You’ll gain a substantive knowledge and understanding of the fundamental legal rules and principles underpinning Land Law. You will cover topics including the nature of property the types of estates and interests categorised as real property (land) and the effect of those estates interests and rights on the owners and on third parties.
Research Methods

The aim of the module is to provide you with an introduction to research methods and the skills necessary for planning and conducting research and enquiry within their field of study discipline or professional contexts.
Ethics in Legal Practice

You’ll study how professional ethics forms the foundation of professional regulation and underpins how lawyers advise and represent their clients and engage in legal practice. You will focus on the practical skills that all practising lawyers must develop i.e. practical legal research interviewing advocacy writing drafting and negotiation.

Family and Child Law

This module seeks to focus on formation and dissolution of marriages and provision for and parental/state responsibilities to children. You’ll be introduced to the social context that informs the development of Family and Child Law. Cohabitation and civil partnerships between both heterosexual and homosexual couples will be included.
Employment Law

This module will introduce you to the sources of employment law. You will analyse why it is important to ascertain whether someone is an employee worker or self-employed in terms of legal status. The nature of the employment contract will be analysed. The whole concept of wrongful and unfair dismissal will be discussed as well as redundancy.
Human Rights and Social Justice

You will learn the current legal debates and theories and criticisms surrounding global human rights issues. This module will allow you to look at the balancing of varying rights such as right to privacy vs freedom of expression. Finally you’ll examine social rights and more specifically workers’ rights protected in the various Conventions.

This module will provide you with an understanding of the basic legal rules and principles of Equity and Trusts. You’ll study topics including the nature of Equity the three certainties the beneficiary principle non- charitable purpose trust constitution of the trust resulting trust constructive trust charitable trusts and secret trusts.
Dissertation

This module will allow you to examine a contemporary legal issue or address a specific area of the law where there is uncertainty in terms of its application and indeed what is the law. You’ll gain the knowledge and skills to identify and carry out a small research project around a contemporary legal topic and to write it as a dissertation.

Advocacy and Alternative Dispute Resolution

This module gives the opportunity to engage with the practical legal skills and techniques of dispute resolution advocacy mediation and negotiation. These skills will help you prepare manage present and respond to a case or legal argument before a court or other tribunal both orally and in writing.
Intellectual Property Law

You’ll develop a solid knowledge of the intellectual property system with particular emphasis on the laws of copyright patents passing off trademarks and breach of confidence. You’ll have the opportunity to identify and explore the rationales for intellectual property protection within current legal situations.
Contemporary Legal Issues

This module is designed to be reflective of current events so could change to ensure you’re learning the latest. Depending on what legal issue is on the news it may be included in this module. You’ll engage in critical debate on the ‘hot’ topics of the world adopting a legal perspective (i.e. abortion rights and euthanasia rights).
International Law

Develop your understanding and knowledge of the basic legal rules and principles underpinning Public International Law. Expand your knowledge as you cover topics that include sources of international law treaty law statehood international organisations the United Nations and international law and the law of armed conflict.

Entry Requirements

You are not eligible to apply to this program because:

The minimum age is 18.

English fluency is required.
You need to be either:
- A native English speaker
- Studied in English at high school or a degree
- Have passed IELTS level 6.5 or TOEFL 95 or above.

Minimum education level: Bachelor's.

The program is competitive, you need to have a high grades of Average A, 70%, or a high GPA.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to Global Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
