Accounting demands a range of transferable skills, including quantitative, analytical and decision-making skills, and perceptive abilities. You will develop these and a good understanding of accounting and the environment in which it operates on this BSc Accounting. You will also develop the ability to apply a wide range of accounting skills and competencies, from preparing financial statements to interpreting complex material and relating theory to practice.
This accounting degree has been designed so that you can focus predominantly on accounting modules, while learning the supervisory and management skills that will give you the confidence to take on more challenges in the workplace. You will also be able to tailor your degree to your interests with option modules such as marketing, organisational behaviour or international finance.
The degree is recognised by ICAEW, ACCA and CIMA, the leading professional accounting bodies, and exemptions from their professional examinations are possible.

You will interact with peers possessing a broad range of experience, many of whom will have come directly from careers as administrators, clerical workers or managers, to develop more detailed and nuanced insights into accounting and management.
If you opt for the Foundation Year route, this will fully prepare you for undergraduate study. It is ideal if you are returning to study after a gap, or if you have not previously studied the relevant subjects, or if you didn't achieve the grades you need for a place on your chosen undergraduate degree.
